71.       Which two-word phrase in Paragraph 1 tell us that the campaign to raise money was progressing well?
The phrase is "gathered momentum".

"Gathered momentum" means speeded up, accelerated.

72.       State two things about the envelope, besides the sender’s name, that suggest he was a rich man.
The words on the back flap was embossed in gold letters and the sender's address was the grazing ground of the country's affluent.

Yes, the donation drive was successful. With all the donation the school was built at last.

It gave them hope that others would be as sacrificial as Joe so that they would accomplished their goal and collect enough funds for the campus.

“When” can mean ‘at the same time as something else’.

‘Could not belief’ is changed to ‘disbelief’, a noun.
